HOMEi is a Sheffield-based team founded at Emerge, the University of Sheffield's startup incubator. We build tools that make the UK rental experience better for landlords and tenants alike.

James, Property Co-founder

A Russell Group MSc Real Estate specialist with over 7 years' experience in the rental market, including 4 years managing student HMOs in Sheffield. James has lived every frustration HOMEi PM solves: the chasing, the paperwork, the inspections nobody wants to be home for. He writes our landlord guides and leads product from the landlord's side of the table.

Gurprit, Engineering Co-founder

A former Bank of England developer, Gurprit brings engineering discipline from the heart of UK finance: systems where accuracy, security and audit trails are non-negotiable. That's the standard HOMEi PM's compliance records, evidence packs and document vault are built to.

Founded at Emerge HOMEi was founded while part of Emerge, the University of Sheffield's startup incubator for early-stage ventures.
1,200+ student users Since launching in Sheffield in September 2025, the HOMEi household organiser app has built up over 1,200 active student users, a ready-made tenant network.
Co-designed with the industry We're working with university accommodation providers and letting agents in early co-design partnerships.
